Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers!
Yep, I'm joining group #22! I've been thinking about doing this for some time now...I think this was the perfect time. It looks to be a great group! One of the things I'm supposed to do, is to post a little blurb about me. I'm a SAHM...I have four kids. The oldest is almost 21...eegads, how did that happen? The next one will be a senior in high school, then a freshman in high school, and one at home that will be homeschooled will be a 6th grader. It doesn't seem possible. I'm a sports mom to the core and encourage my kids to do all they can do and I'll try my best to be at everything and get them where they need to go. I've been making cards for a long time but have only recently caught the stamping bug. I have a wonderful collection of paper and punches that I can't imagine ever parting with. Ü I'm looking forward to being part of this group!

Western Nationals Softball, here we come!
That's right...registration is this evening and opening ceremonies and pool play begin tomorrow.
This is for my 14yo dd. Nationals are in Salem this year, fortunately for us. We're close. I made 17 little boxes of "Oregon hazelnuts" that will go into gift bags for each member of another team. This is my contribution. I had a lot of fun making them!
And here are pictures of said dd. She's the second baseman.

Is this funny or what?

Playing around with embossing...
We've just returned from Coeur d'Alene for the regionals softball tournament. I didn't take nearly enough supplies with me, but you can be sure I did spend some time coloring images. I've been wanting to try some of the Zindorfian ideas, but I couldn't find my Versamark marker anywhere! I bought one instead! I didn't have any embossing supplies with me, so that was the first thing I did after returning home. Laundry? Who wants to do laundry when you can do some stamping instead!!! Anyway...I colored the dragonfly and embossed one with clear and another with polysparkle...cut out the sparkly wings and affixed them atop the other one. I sponged color around...so cool to not have to worry about sponging on the image. I'll definitely be trying my hand at more with this technique.

Winner, winner, winner!!
Jamie, you're the lucky winner...said in my best Price is Right voice! Your name was drawn out of the bowl by my 14 yo dd. I'll be e-mailing you, but if you see this before I get to it, let me know! Thanks to all who left comments...it was a treat having so many comments!
And then a card I simply must show you. This card was MADE by the aforementioned 14 yo dd!! Isn't it wonderful? She followed the curled flower tutorial that I made for SheetLoad!! She gave this card to a friend for their birthday!

Christmas in July at SheetLoads!
Making Christmas cards in the summer is fun! I love, love, love Christmas anyway, and play Christmas carols all year long when I can get away with it...so this was just extra fun for me.
So, it's Christmas this month at Sheetload of Cards. We got to use this fantastic pattern and come up with winter or Christmas cards. Love it. I couldn't stop at two...or three...or four, I had to make five! Be sure to download this month's issue http://sheetload.blogspot.com/; it's a great one!
The first two I used an unknown stamp...that I've had for years and years and years. The paper is probably from DCWV, but I am not positive. The little "Jingle Bells" is from one of those fun button sets and the holly is made out of sculpey.
I wasn't sure if could use this one because I definitely "made it my own". I added an extra sheet of cardstock in between the back layers, the sentiment/image, and behind the patterned paper that runs horizontally. But I just love it. I used AMuse stamps that I love too!
And who doesn't love these mice? I just ooh and aah every time I use them! I used some machine stitching on this one; it was fun!
Love this one too. I love that gold paper! I used three little dew drops and also added an extra bow on top of the adorable little mouse so it adds some depth. All of the images were colored with Prismacolors and blended with mineral spirits. Hope you get some Christmas cards done this summer...and using the pattern at SheetLoads is the way to go!
