What a difference...

Here are some before and after pictures of my ribbon. I won a ribbon organzer from Kelly at
Lovin' the Life I Color! Thanks Kelly! This is SO much better! I had such a mess with my ribbon and now it's right at my fingertips! I love it! And it's so cute to look at!

Card class Monday!

I get together with a group of ladies from the local senior center and we put together cards! It's so much fun and I think they all enjoy it. Last month we made Christmas cards...my favorite thing to make. And I didn't get my fill, so I had to make another. We're going to try our hand at watercoloring! I had this gorgeous image (I bought it used, so I don't know what company to credit). I loved coloring the image, but I had a hard time putting together the card. My 11 year old doesn't much care for the blue background. Hmph! But I didn't know what else to do with it!

The holly leaf is a punch and the berries are knots in a little piece of red ribbon. I like the way that looks.

We're also going to make some Christmas gift tags! Love those too. I used a lot of punches, made shrinky dink buttons, and colored the large chipboard snowflake with a reinker. We're going to emboss the snowflake on the blue tag and sponge. It should be a lot of fun!

Winner, winner, winner!

Okay...are you guys all ready to see what this creation ended up being??? She is a mermaid for an "undersea" tree that is auctioned for a rundraiser in Seattle. Isn't it amazing? I am in awe of the "shipwreck" tree topper and I'm thrilled with how the mermaid looks. Do you see the little sign accompanying it toward the bottom left of the tree? It says "special thanks to Denise" at the bottom. Wow! This tree is amazing. I'll include a couple of close ups for you.

Then we have the left hand and right hand. Isn't it so cool how they did that?
And the tail...the beautiful tail. I was very happy with how this turned out. And you can see the base and the aquarium. Love it. I hope it raises a lot of money.

Thank you to everybody that guessed. I know it was a hard one...who would have thought a mermaid and especially one on a tree that had to do with Christmas? CLAUDIA, you're the winner. Awesome guessing. I need your mailing address to send out some goodies!

December SheetLoad is ready!!

December SheetLoad is ready!! What are you waiting for? Go, go, go! It is sponsored by Paper Pretties and it is awesome! I was fortunate...oh so fortunate...to get the Little Drummer Boy (Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum). The Little Drummer Boy is my favorite Christmas character...one of my most cherished Christmas movies from when I was young! I'd love for you to see the samples I created...I'm very happy with how they turned out. Here are some sneak peeks of mine...

Almost a winner...

Here's the new face...

Somebody is about to win!!! Somebody has guessed the right item, but has not guessed the details!! I'm amazed at the guessing! Great job!

Anyway...here's the original face that was mocking me. Here's the new eye and eye make up. See the gold glimmer? Love that!

Here's a close up of the fingernails...finished and on their way.
Here's a very close up of some of the material that I also used. Isn't it gorgeous? Micro beads all over it!

And the finished face with hair! Any new guesses with some detail on how it will be used? I hope to have some final pictures tomorrow, but that might be pushing it. Thanks to everybody that has been playing along!

And what do you think this funky thing is???

Another clue...

This is the original eye...but I ended up not being able to use. You can see some of the hairline cracks in this one. It was such a pain! The "new eye" looks quite different...perhaps I'll post the new eye tomorrow. Better to see you with! Here's a clue...it will be used in a Christmas display.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Weird, huh? And kind of creepy. More clues...not a turkey, but Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

It's not Angelina either...

Norma had us all cracking up with her Angelina Jolie comment. That's just too funny. It does appear to be a "she" though, don't you think so? This makeup ended up not being the end product though...my creation was giving me absolute fits with some cracking in the clay. I told my sister that it was mocking me! I ended up trying superglue, sandpaper, more clay, more sandpaper, more glue, and paint. Ugh! I'm so glad it's done.

It's not a turkey...

Nope...not a turkey. Great guesses so far...I'm really enjoying them. It doesn't matter which one you post on...I'm keeping a watchful eye on the guesses. The first one to give me a detailed guess that is "spot on" (love that term), that will be the winner.

Amazing blog candy link!

Debbie from the UK is giving away some copics and some sugar nellies! Her blog is Passion for Crafts, go check it out!

Another clue...

I've had a few guesses so far...keep at it! It's NOT a mask nor is it a jewelry holder. I'd love to have lots of guesses...and as time gets closer to the real reveal, I'll post better clues Ü This "thing" did give me fits with some of the sculpey cracking. I've dealt with super glue, sandpaper, more glue, paint, gesso, etc.... I told my sister that this creation was mocking me.

And here are two cards I created from some blog candy I received. Beautiful paper!

Another gorgeous poinsettia...

I just love the poinsettia image. This one is darker than my other "gorgeous poinsettia card" post and I think I like them both equally. This one uses fancier paper. The sentiment is a $1 clear stamp. I used bling in the center of the flower and below the sentiment. The bling on the background is the way the paper came. Gorgeous, I know! Can you see the gold shimmer? I made my own glimmer mist with some gold powder (that I inherited and had no idea what to do with) and some water...in an old nasal spray bottle. (I did wash it really well) Ü

Another clue?

Crazy...I know...but this is actually a part of my creation that I'm working on...included with this post. The first person that guesses my actual end product will win blog candy.

I have a guessing game for you...

Ugly, right? Can you guess, in detail, what it is going to be? It's not card related or scrapping related, but it is crafting. My sister has asked me to create something and I think it would be fun for you guys to guess. I'll post new pictures periodically to help and the first person to guess the end product will win some blog candy from me. Those of you who actually know what this is are not permitted to guess! I look forward to seeing some guesses. Hopefully I'll be patient enough to add pictures slowly and not give it away too quickly.

Peter Pan and Tink

Throwing together costumes Halloween morning is perfectly fine, right?!?! We always do a theme for the kids...it won't be long until we're down to only one that goes trick or treating! We take the kids to five different houses of very good friends...visit for a bit and end up at Grammy and Papa's house for more visiting. A very fun evening.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. Love it...love listening to Christmas carols ALL year long. So, it's no wonder I enjoy making Christmas cards. Now...getting them sent is another thing altogether...but I do like making them. This stamp is from a $1 Studio G set. I had to have it. I only used the triangle part...not the trunk, as it is just a line. I got out a bunch of my green patterned scraps and went to town! Love things like this because I can take things to cut with me to volleyball games or when I'm just waiting to chauffeur I can sit and cut. I have medium greens, gray-greens, bright greens...love them all! The sentiment is from a different $1 Studio G set...absolutely love it too. I embossed the rectangles with a Spellbinders that I borrowed ages ago from a dear, dear, dear friend (Phyllis, are you reading this?) I definitely think it adds an elegant touch.
