Happy Birdie!!

Happy Birdie! Here's using two of my amazing Just Johanna stamps! I love 'em! I used my Cuttlebug, of course. I just can't stop playing with that thing! I embossed the tan paper, then I shaded in some areas for dimension, using my gold Prismacolor pencil. Then I sanded the raised part for some contrast. I just love the way it looks! I used the gold pencil again on the small piece behind the bird. The ribbon I got at Craft Warehouse...what a deal I got on that. They had 90% off Christmas clearance...however I wouldn't call this "Christmas". There were 10 yard rolls of this interesting combination. There were three different types of ribbon, all held together with metallic beads all spaced evenly. So, I ended up getting 30 yards of ribbon altogether, nine different types. I'm loving it. I did, however, have to "iron" it all after I disassembled it all. I used my curling iron for that. Whew. But I just love this light taupe color. Mmmmm.

Frogs and toads!

I am just LOVING the Cuttlebug! I used the dotty one and embossed regular cardstock and some glossy cardstock and then played with my alcohol inks. Then I HAD to punch out some

frogs and toads! Aren't they adorable? I also borrowed a die and cut out this fantastic heart. It's a sizzlet that I cut on the cuttlebug, of course!
I used acetate and the computer to print my sentiment.
I also got to use my cropadile, which is fairly new. I'm loving that toy as well!
I tried out the nestabilities...borrowing from my ever generous friend, Phyllis. I am SO impressed with how these emboss the rectangle. It is SO elegant. They are ALL on my want list now.

I won big!

I won so big. I won the gift certificate to Just Johanna stamps from The Land of Lost Luggage. I just am still so thrilled. I had such a hard time picking out stamps though...my want list is HUGE! But I picked my favorites! I used one of them immediately for the thank you card I sent Julie. As soon as I say "Bless your berry pickin little heart" I KNEW I had to have it.

And I was right. It's perfect.

And that's not all I won from Julie. I also got a $25 gift certificate to Dick Blick. I haven't ordered yet, but I do know what I'll be getting. I'm so blessed!

It's not my birthday...yet!

It's not my birthday YET, but already I'm being spoiled rotten!
These are socks that my 20 yo DD KNIT for me!
Can you believe it?
I can't. They're
incredible. They're SO warm and so beautiful and I could never, in a million years, knit a pair of socks. She asked, "Who else could I make socks for?"
I said, "Are you kidding me? EVERY pair of socks you knit should be for me!!" But, alas, I relented and realized that my dear sister would
adore a pair. And I am being rather greedy. My birthday is still a month away and already I've received the Cuttlebug, embossing folders, and socks! I'm on a roll!!!

Cuttlecard!

I'm playing and playing with the Cuttlebug! This is a very simple card, but I just LOVE how it turned out. I used white core cardstock. Then I sanded the raised flowers, then painted them in with ink. I just really like the way it turned out. I cut out "thanks" with the Cuttlebug also...it came with the Olivia alphabet and the paper matched really well with the inks I used. It's much prettier in person!

True Love

It's definitely true love for me and the Cuttlebug!!! I have an incredible friend who let me open my birthday gifts early (my birthday isn't until next month!!!) and I got some embossing folders. I HAD to immediately try one! So, here's the scoop...the hearts are punched out with paper punches, the scalloped edges are made by punching out circles using the above mentioned friend's nestabilities...and then I used my 1/16" punch to make the tiny holes, cut apart the circles and opened them up to make "lace". I love the effect. The "TRUE" is stamped onto a garbage piece of plastic. The "Love" and the "exclamation point" are both made with the Cuttlebug and they are from the "Olivia" alphabet set. The exclamation point is actually the vase turned upside down and the center of the "o". I glued these all onto thin chipboard. I love it!

I tried out my new toy!

First though, a card I made for a friend's birthday. I love the color combination!! I pieced the clothes and colored the rest with Prismacolors and odorless mineral spirits. Oh, and I changed the little flower vase into a gift using a $1 stamp. I love it.

THEN, I started playing with my Cuttlebug!!! This one uses the tiny embossing folders that came with it and a $1 stamp from Michael's. I intend to make "peeps" at Easter time, but thought they'd look cute on a baby card

Here's a close up of the embossed buggy.

THEN, my incredible mom decided I should get ANOTHER early birthday present and she bought me the cutest alphabet set to use!!! It came with the dies on this "thanks" card. Wow. I am so excited about this and I love the simplicity and boldness of the card!
