Merry Christmas!

Here it is already the eve of Christmas. This year has gone by SO very quickly. I remember thinking I would get my cards made ahead of time and it seems like that wasn't very long went by too quickly for me! I didn't manage to get many made and didn't get any sent...yet. I'm thinking maybe I'll go for New Year's cards or Valentine's cards! Eeeegads!!!
This is another SheetLoad card I made for December. If you haven't checked it out...hurry! This is the last issue and it's a goodie!! I used some alcohol inks to color the holly and berries. I used Prismacolor pencils...and they're not really washed out like in the photo. It's much better in person.
I hope everybody has a blessed Christmas...and be so thankful that we are celebrating the birth of Christ.

Simple, Special,'s MY turn!

It is time for the December edition of Simple Special Stunning at the SheetLoad of Cards blog, featuring samples by Me!

Each month one of our artists will share three different cards that use the current layout. Each card is a "step up" from the previous one, but they are all fabulous. It is a good way to show how SheetLoad is geared toward papercrafters of all levels.

Here are some sneak peeks to whet your appetite...

I am really proud of how my "stunning" one turned out, so here it is...
The pearl flourishes were made with the $1.00 pearls. I drew a swirl, covered that with acetate and adhered the pearls on in patterns, cut them out and glued them on. The little "Believe" is doen on shrink plastic and I think it added a really cool look to it. Now the fluffy stuff is the shredded Styrofoam that I've used several times. The look just fascinates me. Here's a close up of Santa's hat so you can see the fluff and shimmer!

One of my SheetLoad creations...

Yes, finally. After a computer crash and a few lost pictures, I was able to find the cards and photograph them again. I guess it's a good thing I'm late sending out Christmas cards!!!

The doggie bones were made using a punch. I layered about six on top of each other to make it look like chipboard and tied a mini paper ribbon around them.

The "fur" on the stocking is a tip I found is grated Styrofoam! Isn't it GREAT?!?! It's like sparkly flower soft and I've used it several times since! Cheap! I happened to have a sack of old styrofoam balls...not sure what my plan was with them, but now they will be grated!!

I made this to go with a little can of doggie bones. You can see them together in SheetLoad of cards December issue. A great sketch to be sure!
