Another card I like

I doodled on the brown background paper with a white gel pen first and then just kept playing with everything. The stamped image is an SU flower that is embossed in black and then colored in with markers and highlighted with the gel pen. I made "eyelet lace" as a border, felt rikrak, and the wrought iron corner punch to make the fancy black border pieces. I doodled along the edge of the card too...put a pen in my hand and off I go. The "friend" is hand lettered.

I like this one...

I used some gorgeous Bohemian paper as part of the background on this card. I have really enjoyed that paper! I used felt rikrak that I won in blog candy, a scalloped circle that I won, and a really old Stampin' Up! set that I have in my stamp bin. I hand lettered the "thank you".

My 16 yo ds even liked it a bunch and said, "I think you should make more of that one!" That's cool to have words of encouragement like that from him!

We have a possible softball game tonight, but it could be cancelled because we're having rain. And the 16 yo has two basketball games tonight as well. I'm secretly hoping the softball game is cancelled so I don't have to choose which one to go to.

My bella made with blog candy!

I got the most wonderful blog candy from Jen at Pieces of Me...which included some stamped Bellas!!! It also included some scalloped circles, background paper, ribbon, and CD labels. How cool is that? I have been drooling over the Bellas! I am just thrilled. Anyway, I made a card!! I popped out the belly to give emphasis. I'm not sure who is going to get this card, but when I need one, there it will be!

I popped out the bangs and added the hair bow. I also made up the background "floor" with markers.

The gate fold is from Beate's blog. I like it so much, I just had to try it! Now I want, want, want more Bellas!

Bunnies, bunnies, bunnies!!

Can you say adorable??? My girls got bunnies today! We have a friend that raises lionhead rabbits...have you ever seen them? I hope to be able to link to her blog eventually, but she doesn't have one yet. My girls have been waiting patiently for the bunnies to be old enough to "come home" and today is the day! The first one is my oldest daughter's purebred lionhead rabbit. She is eight weeks old.
The bunny's name is Digby and she's a girl.

Here is a close up...
Here is my youngest daughter's bunny. This one is a lop/lionhead mix. Adorable...and definitely takes after the lionhead daddy...but it might have lop ears! We are very excited to see how "Penelope" grows up!

And kiss....
Isn't this the sweetest thing?
I am going to HAVE to make some bunny cards in honor of "Digby" and "Penelope"!!! Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

Card challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie

I finally got my card done. It wasn't as easy as I thought it might be. I love the contrast of black and pastel! Check out Kimmie's blog!

Unprepared camping and a new card...

What a wonderful weekend! We headed out on a fairly "spur of the moment" overnight camping trip with our trailer. We threw in clothes, I grabbed some food, and away we went. I didn't pack enough food...and I left my wallet home! What an adventure. We managed to gather $ was enough to buy a package of hot dogs at the little corner grocery so that we could roast hot dogs over the campfire. Wood...that was another thing. They wanted $8 for a box of wood. Oh well...I figured we'd go without. But we had a visitor who noticed our plight and she brought us wood! Then, the neighbor, the camper next to us, offered up marshmallows! Could it really get any better than that? We had two giving people and we have sweet memories...and a full tummy!

While there, I got my card made for Lilybean's Paperie challenge. I had a great time making it and I really like the way it turned out! The requirements were heart, button, chipboard, polka dots and ribbon with a "friend" theme. Here it is:

A Slam Dunk! Not a card...a real dunk!

Does anybody else love basketball? This is my "tall son" (see picture on side) during a slam dunk contest over the weekend. He will be a junior in high school next fall. He's a bit over 6'6"... closer to 6'7", but just a hair short of it I think. Anyway, you know how some silly kids volunteer for silly things? Yep...another kid said, "Hey, you can dunk over me if you want to." And mine said, "Yea, okay!" So, I had to watch this one through my fingers as I was visualizing two medic units arriving, one for each kid!! Ugh. Fortunately, he came through and managed a dunk...and thanks to somebody else's dad, we got pictures!!!

The next one is a different alley oop that he dunked nicely. He got 3rd place. I think there were about ten contestants and this was his first time, so he was thrilled! He got a Gatorade, a water bottle, and a basketball all for 3rd place. Yea!

I haven't come up with a great "slam dunk" card yet...if you've got any great ideas, send them my way.

My Bingo sketch

This is the FIRST card I've ever made actually following a sketch! I hope to do it a bunch more, but I was motivated to create this to get another number drawn at Poetic Artistry's Bingo!!! Each time somebody makes a card with her sketch, she'll draw an extra Bingo number!! Let's all make cards!

Basketball and softball tournaments this weekend

We spent the weekend at a basketball tournament in Klamath Falls. It was great, but we missed the softball tournament. It's tough with kids in multiple sports! I did take some paper with me, though not much! Here's the card I put together.

Drywall Tape....

This card has the drywall tape that I thought the was on the other card. I found it in the hardware section and it looks just like magic mesh. I did ink this up with versa mark and then heat embossed the bright green onto it. It does take ink, but it's very light, so I opted for embossing. I love the effect!

Another day...

Doesn't EVERYBODY want a $25 gift card to Jo Ann Fabrics? I know I do! Ü Click here to check it out.

New card to see? Here's one I made with some an old Stampin Up! set and some new to me SU paper! I used a little bit of transparency that I printed on, some large magic mesh and brads. I love brads.
